Inside Embassy Row – A walking tour by Speed of Life Tours
From around 1890 until the Great Depression, Embassy Row was an exciting world of pleasure, leisure, scandal, and competition. This walking tour will take you along the outside of the houses of the ladies of the old guard of Washington circa 1910. You’ll see the architecture and hear stories of women such as Alice Roosevelt Longworth, eldest daughter of Theodore Roosevelt, often called “the other Washington Monument.”
This is a special tour because we actually go inside an embassy, perhaps more than one. Each tour is different, so we cannot announce which embassy we will go into before hand.
